Little Red Door Cancer Agency Hosts 18th Annual Face of Hope Breakfast

INDIANAPOLIS – On Thursday, November 20, Little Red Door Cancer Agency gathered more than a thousand community members, donors, and partners at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Expo Hall, and virtually to celebrate its 18th annual Face of Hope Breakfast. The event served as a powerful reminder of the community’s commitment to reducing the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of cancer for Hoosiers in need.

This year’s Face of Hope Breakfast coincided with a milestone moment, Little Red Door’s 80th anniversary. Adding to the celebration, the State of Indiana, along with the cities of Indianapolis and Muncie, officially declared November 20th as Little Red Door Cancer Agency Day. This remarkable honor shines a bright spotlight on 80 years of impact and the incredible community that makes our work possible.

“Face of Hope is a celebration of community,” said Mandy Pietrykowski, Director and CEO of Little Red Door Cancer Agency. “The Face of Hope Breakfast raised a record-breaking $601,956 for Hoosiers along the cancer continuum. We are humbled again by the generosity of this community and reminded again of the strength and impact we can make when we all come together. What we hold together, holds.”

Throughout the morning, attendees heard heartfelt stories from clients, staff, and board members illustrating the impact of Little Red Door’s programs, from transportation to treatment and nutritional support to pediatric cancer camps and wellness activities. These personal accounts brought to life the agency’s mission of helping Hoosiers make the most of life and the least of cancer.

“The services provided by Little Red Door fill the gaps that too often go unnoticed. Cancer care is more than just giving chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation,” said Anuj Agarwala, MD, Medical Director of Medical Oncology for Community Health Network, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Little Red Door Board Member. “It is how we talk to patients, listen to them, and try to understand their challenges and struggles, and meet them where they are. Your support for Little Red Door does just that.”

Little Red Door extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who joined this year’s celebration and helped make the 18th Annual Face of Hope Breakfast a success. Together, the community continues to build a future filled with hope for those facing cancer in Indiana.
