Notes of Hope

Share hope through handwritten letters that lift the spirits of those facing cancer!

Spread a Little Hope with a Handwritten Note

Our “Notes of Hope” program sends letters of encouragement right to the doorstep of our client’s undergoing cancer treatment. All cards are written by volunteers and mailed by Little Red Door. By writing three or more encouragement cards, you can help brighten someone’s day and remind them that they are not alone in their journey!

Notes of Hope Instructions

For each client, please write a short, lighthearted, and encouraging note. We want your message to feel genuine, but it doesn’t need to be a full-page letter. Here are a few things to keep in mind while writing:

  • Personalize when possible: Address the client by name (if provided) to make your note feel special and personal.

  • Keep it uplifting: Focus on positivity and encouragement. Please avoid any violent, crude or heavy language.

  • Be inclusive: Little Red Door serves clients of all faiths and beliefs, and we want every message to feel welcoming. Avoid religious language.

  • Sign with care: You’re welcome to sign your first name, but please refrain from including personal details.

You are encouraged to provide your own stationary, but we also have some available.

When your notes are complete, you can drop them off at either of our offices or mail them to our Indianapolis location. Please do not seal the envelopes. If mailing, you may send all notes together in one envelope, and we will take care of re-packaging and mailing each note individually.
