Dan Johnston Presents $10,000 to Little Red Door Cancer Agency Following 28-Hour Ultramarathon

Indianapolis, IN (October 29, 2025) — Little Red Door Cancer Agency proudly accepted a $10,000 donation today from Dan Johnston, who completed a grueling 28-hour ultramarathon to raise funds and awareness for cancer support services in Indiana.

Earlier this year, Dan set out to take on the Backyard Ultramarathon, a race that challenges participants to complete a loop every hour for as long as they are able, often lasting between 24 and 48 hours. Dan ran for an incredible 28 hours straight as part of his Miles for Melanoma campaign, inspired by his own cancer journey.

In 2024, Dan was diagnosed with Stage 3 Metastatic Melanoma, just months after the birth of his son. Since then, he has undergone multiple surgeries and continues to receive immunotherapy treatments as part of a clinical trial in Pittsburgh. Despite the challenges of treatment, Dan continued to train and stay focused on his mission to give back.

“Some of the things I truly believe in are movement and healthy nutrition,” said Dan Johnston. “I love that Little Red Door Cancer Agency provides these opportunities to cancer patients in our community.”

The $10,000 raised through Dan’s campaign will directly support Little Red Door’s mission to make the most of life and the least of cancer by providing critical services such as transportation to treatment, nutrition assistance, and emotional support programs for Hoosiers facing cancer.

Dan’s story serves as a reminder that strength and hope can carry us through even the toughest miles.
