This May, expect to see the past, present and future of IndyCar racing on display as Indianapolis prepares for a memorable celebration.  Mark your calendar for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 29, 2016. Little Red Door is proud to get to be part of this fun-filled weekend.  For five consecutive years, the Thursday before the Indianapolis 500 takes place, the Yellow Party, in partnership with Racing for Cancer and AutoNation, has supported Little Red Door Cancer Agency through an unforgettable evening of live and silent auctions, appearances by IndyCar Drivers, live music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and so much more! The goal is to unite motorsports fans, racing organizations, and drivers to support the global fight against cancer. The Yellow Party is hosted by race car driver Ryan Hunter-Reay and his wife, Beccy.

This year, the Yellow Party will take place at the Biltwell Event Center on Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM.  Channel your inner Gatsby and get dolled up for a swinging good time at this Retro Roaring Twenties-themed celebration.  Racing for Cancer works to provide support to help individuals, families, and children who are battling cancer.

They focus their efforts towards early detection and prevention because nearly one-third of all cancer deaths are preventable. Racing for Cancer also helps in the fight against childhood cancer. One in every 300 children will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 19, and cancer is the number one cause of disease-related death among children. The Yellow Party’s efforts to help raise awareness and support of fighting childhood cancer directly coincide with Camp Little Red Door.  Camp Little Red Door is Indiana’s oldest camp for children with cancer.

Camp is offered one week each summer and is for any child 8-18 years old with cancer or in remission living in Indiana.  Campers participate in swimming, canoeing, fishing, archery, campfires, arts & crafts, horseback riding, a physical challenge course featuring rope ladders & bridges and more.

This year, Camp Little Red Door will run from Sunday, June 19 through Friday, June 24, 2016. If you or someone you know is interesting in joining us at Camp Little Red Door, Please find the application here.
