One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and 13 million breast cancer deaths around the world will occur in the next 25 years. How can we stand up with one another and fight these statistics? You can join the Little Red Door Team in the 24th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, April 18.
Each year, more than 16,000 participants and donors raise over $1.3 million for breast cancer research and support in Indianapolis. Komen Central Indiana focuses on helping women in our community. Your support allows Komen to fund breast health services and education for women who are underinsured and uninsured.
Last year’s grant cycle provided 59,000 breast health services to 22,000 individuals right here in Central Indiana. As a Susan G. Komen grantee, Little Red Door is proud to walk in the race as a team to fight breast cancer. With the help of the Susan G. Komen grant in 2014, Little Red Door was able to provide services to 1,457 clients. Those clients received 2,551 services including biopsies, CBE, ultrasounds and mammograms.
Vice President of Development and Communications, Nick Duvall, is extremely excited to participate in his first Race for the Cure as a member of the Little Red Door Team. Duvall said, “Susan G. Komen has been an extremely strong partner with the Little Red Door for many years. Without this great event and our partnership with Komen of Central Indiana, the Little Red Door could not serve the large number folks that we do. We are so happy to participate and support them in Race for the Cure.”
If you are interested in joining the Little Red Door team, please click here and find the “JOIN TEAM” option. The registration fee is $30 and includes a t-shirt and race bib.
