Months before next year's Academy Awards, we will be handing out an award of our own. No, not to an actor or actress, but to someone in central Indiana who has made a difference in the lives of people with cancer.
We established The Lawrence H. Einhorn M.D. Award in 2004 to honor Dr. Lawrence Einhorn, a distinguished and nationally known oncologist and a member of Indiana University School of Medicine faculty. This year, the award will be presented on October 18, 2006 at “An Evening With The Smothers Brothers”.
Nominations for the 2006 recipient are now being sought and are due by June 30, 2006.
The contributions and service for which this individual will be honored may be for but not limited to:
- medical research
- direct patient medical care
- distinguished volunteer service to cancer programs and organizations
- longevity of service to cancer programs and organizations
- direct intervention to improve the lives of people with cancer
- distinguished leadership, impact, and service to cancer related causes.
The 2004 recipient was Mrs. Marjorie Williams and the 2005 recipient was Mr. Bruce Hetrick. To nominate someone for this award, please submit a summary of their service and activity not to exceed two pages. Please include your name and contact information along with that of the nominee.
