Nutrition Education

We know how important it is to maintain a healthy diet, not only for those who have been diagnosed with cancer, but for overall well-being and cancer prevention.

Little Red Door plants a community garden each spring with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs that contain antioxidant properties that may reduce the risk of cancer.  Produce from the garden is free to community neighbors and any remaining produce is harvested and utilized during our Door to Wellness Cooking Demonstrations and Garden Club sessions.

Here is a current list of what we are growing:

  • Rainbow Chard
  • Kale
  • Radish
  • Carrots
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Peppers
  • Eggplant
  • Black Raspberries
  • Assortment of Herbs (Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Lavender, Parsley)
  • And more!

If you are at the Indiana State Fair this year and want to watch one of our cooking demonstrations live, you can find us in the Ag./Hort. building every day at 1:00pm, from August 5th through August 21st.
